Kristina Werner Color Inspiration #26

I almost missed Kristina's color inspiration this week (that's what happened when you don't scroll down) and actually found out through a good blogging friend Sankari when she post her card yesterday... hi Sankari!

And if you're a challenge junkie (like me), make sure to visit Sankari and Brooke's new challenge blog at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. They just started last week and post their challenge every Saturday.

Anyway, back to the card. I've been seeing these paper roses everywhere and always wanted to try it and having limited card stock I thought it would be perfect to these flowers for this challenge. I really like how they turned out but not happy when I finished the card. Can't really pinpoint what I don't like about this card but maybe someone can tell me?

Stamp: Heard from the Heart from Stampin' Up

Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron and Rose Red card stock from Stampin' Up,

Ink: Basic Black from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Stampin' Up Scallop punch and Self-Adhesive Rhinestones

I don't know why you don't like it. You need my address so you can send it to me? I think it's very lovely. The flowers and colours are perfect not to mention the texture that comes with it!

I love it the way it is. However, if you wanted to change something, I would turn your scalloped border the other way--then it looks like grass.

I really like this card...a lot. I have been finding the flowers a lot, too, but would you be willing to share how you made them? Looks easy, but just curious. Oh, BTW, you are very talented. Don't feel like you can't dmonstrate or teach classes (I saw from your profile). I sometimes feel the same way too (a lot actually), but just dive in and try it sometime. Just to see if you can. You have a lot to offer, and people really appreciate that. Hope that helps.

This is so great! I love those flowers! Such a creative idea! :)

The only thing I would change would be to flip the scallop edge. That's it.

I love the flip the scallop idea-but there is nothing wrong with this...I love it! Great texture and colors!

HI Catherine!!

Thanks for the shout out!

Your card is beautiful and those flowers are awesome! I would love to see a tutorial on how did the distressing! Love the bling and especially the way you weaved the sentiment in the card! I think you are too hard on yourself because your card is lovely - the only thing different could be that it should be sitting on my mantle !!! :)

You will have to come over and check out Cinema Saturday - I just posted a sneak peek for tomorrow's challenge (i think its pretty obvious which movie it is - but I couldn't resist :) Hope you are having a great day - let us know what happens today - we are still keeping our fingers crossed!!!

Sending you a bucket full of hugs and joy!
much love,
Sankari :)

oh how great is this?! I'd love foryou to do a tutorial on the roses too. I think if you cut your image layer down a little and layered on some designer paper or on a colored card you might like it a little better, I think it's great the way it is!

I luv what you did with the flowers & sentiment! I wouldn't change a thing! But if YOU still think it needs something try putting white dots with a gel pen in the scallops. I really think its perfect as is though!
