Blog Winner & Stampin' with Papertrey Ink

and card stock and ribbon. I had this sketch in my mind for awhile now and actually created a few cards with it but just didn't like the way they came out. Those cards are sitting on my BLAH box (never to be seen by anyone...LOL!) Do you have those kinds of cards? I have plenty! Cover Up

I created this card for a good friend of mine for her birthday and gave her the stamp set also.... she loved it!

Card stock, ink and Swiss Dot Satin Ribbon are from Papertrey Ink February Release and the flowers and the sentiment is from a set called Time Well Spent by Stampin' Up. The flowers are stamped on Stamper's Select White card stock and stamped again on a separate card stock, cut and raised with stampin' dimensional. Flowers and sentiments are water-colored using Aqua Mist Perfect Match ink and added Crystal Stickles.

And, for my first blog candy winner... drum roll please! Toni's favorite on how you celebrate birthdays is....

Blog candy fun!

I celebrate by having all the family over and cooking a big pot of chili (her birthday is in November and she loves chili!). We usually get an ice cream cake with something girlie, this past year was Pretty Ponies, (it usually has something to do with horses, she's obsessed!) and we dance and have a blast. She loves ice cream cake almost as much as I do, which is a lot, since I reign in this area. *grin*

Me: Did you pick this because of horses?

Toni: No, because she cook a big pot of chili, that's a lot of work Mom and it seems fun!

Congratulations Gretchen , please contact me ASAP so I can send your goodies. If I hear from you by tonight I can mail this out tomorrow morning. If not, you'll have to wait until next week. Our friends and family (16 of us) are off to a Mexican Riviera cruise... we're leaving this Sunday and will be back Monday, March 31st. It's my first time on a ship and I'm so excited! Not packed yet but excited. Anyone has been on a cruise? Do you have any tips for me? I'm all Ears.

Penny for your thoughts

Happy Hump Day!

I've had this cute Penny Black image from Eclectic Paperie since last year. I actually received another Penny Black image from them and I'll be posting that for tomorrow.

I colored the main image using Basic Brown and Brocade Blue classic ink and added a pink mini paper flower. The silver brad is covered with Dazzling Diamond and layered it with Basic Brown card stock, all four corners are punched using ticket corner punch. The background is a Brocade Blue card stock. I was trying a new technique that was posted this week at Splitcoast Stampers, where you ink the negative side of the Cuttlebug folder, and this is what I got. I was not really happy with it but this will do... for now. Ribbon is from Making Memories and sentiment is from a Studio G $ stamps from Michael's.

Also, don't forget to leave a comment here if you want a chance to win some goodies from me. You have until tomorrow, 8:00 p.m. EST.

Favors and 1st Blog Candy

Here's the favor I made for my mom's retirement. I already made 40 sour cream containers (like this!) but Thursday before the party, they all came apart! I guess I didn't use the right Sticky Strip. Luckily, I found this cute favor boxes at a dollar store (1 package contains 12 boxes). What a deal... right?!?

Mom's favorite color is yellow and she loves frogs but I was having issues with yellows and greens and I have less than 24 hours to make these, so I just grabbed this hippo from Pun Fun set from Stampin' Up, water-colored the hippo with Going Gray classic ink, ribbon and balloon were colored with So Saffron. I then layered it with So Saffron card stock and raised it with stampin' dimensional. The favor boxes were stamped randomly with Background Basics using So Saffron classic ink. Easy Peasy!

As mentioned on yesterday's post, here's my very first Blog candy. I just passed the 12 thousandth hits!!! Thank you for coming to visit me. Here's what you'll get from me... a bride's bucket with tons of gorgeous, shimmery, embossed paper flowers, 4 clear stamps and a 3-yard stitched ribbon.

To win, just leave a comment on this post telling me how you celebrate birthdays with your child.
Random.Toni (<-- my daughter) will pick the winner on her birthday this Thursday, March 20th and I will post the winner on Friday, March 21st. Good Luck!

PaperTrey meets Stampin' Up

Good Morning! Did you have a nice weekend? I sure did! We had a surprise party for my Mom's retirement and the surprise was she knew it all along! I guess one of her co-workers told her that she wouldn't be able to come... so, the surprise was on us.

Here are two cards that I CASE'd from Lauren Meader of My Time.... I just loved how she used her patterned paper as backgrounds. And, it's perfect that I have the same patterned paper.

The card base, polka dot satin ribbon and patterned paper are from PaperTrey Ink February Release and the main image is from Stampin' Up So Many Scallops stamp set. A quick card for people like me who doesn't have enough time to play with my stamps. Have a great day and watch for a blog candy tomorrow.

Stamps: So Many Scallops from Stampin' Up

Paper: Whisper White card stock from Stampin' Up, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss perfect match card stock and Everyday Blessing pattern paper from PaperTrey Ink

A bug... Just for You!

I'm still recovering from the Keith Urban concert from Tuesday. I remember going out on a Thursday night before and getting home after 2AM and can still function the following day to go to work and then go out again Friday and Saturday night. Oh, how I wish I can do the same things I used to do...LOL!

Okay, not a bug... how about a flower just for you? Both main image and sentiment is from Whipper Snapper Design. Main image is called Flower Bug and was stamped on Whisper White card stock with Jet Black Staz-on ink, water-colored using Certainly Celery and Basic Black ink. This cute lady bug did not have dots but I added black dots by using a small pencil top eraser. I then punched it using Marvy Oval mega punch and layered it with Basic Black card stock punched with Marvy Oval Scallop Giga punch and raised it with stampin' dimensional. Both patterned paper is from Stampin' Up Certainly Celery Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from Just for You Cat stamp. I finished the card by adding black sheer polka dot ribbon and the flower rhinestone that I got from Michael's.

Speaking of Michael's... on our way to see Keith Urban, we stopped by there and got some good stuff for my very first blog candy. I was planning to give one right after I hit my 10 thousandth hit but I didn't realize that I have way passed that... so, stay tuned for some goodies from MOI!

I'm in-love...

with Keith Urban. Me and my sister didn't get home until a little after midnight from the concert, and we both have to go to work this morning...I'm exhausted and I bet she is too. My head has been pounding from screaming last night and my throat hurts but it's so worth it. He put on a great show and I'll definitely see him again.

Here are some pictures that I took last night, I have a lot more but I don't think I should post it here...LOL! Are you ready....

Here's Keith singing to me but my sister insists that he's singing to her
(yes, she's now a Keith Urban fan)
I just love this pic, love watching him play
A little closer to me...but, not close enough Keith playing piano... to ME!
(insert me... screaming here)
oh yeah, baby!
more of Keith
The band Singing "Everybody"
Love this shot
Keith and Carrie
Thanks again for coming with me, Pen. I had a great time, love you! I have some Whipper Snapper cards for tomorrow, so make sure to come back.

Leftovers

My dad used to say sometimes, leftovers are better than the first time you tried it, in this case...he was right!

Here are the two cards that I created from the leftover digital paper that I used from yesterday's post but with a different layout.

The sketch layout is from Lauren of My Time... that she posted the past weekend. When I saw her post, I was debating if I should do it or not. I even thought I would pass this challenge and wait for next week's but right after I made my Mom's card and I have a couple of pieces of scraps leftover, I knew that her layout would be perfect! The sentiment for both cards is from the set Women of Life by Papertrey Ink.

And yes, Penny (<---- my sister) this will be your Mother's Day card unless Mama tells me that we have another sister somewhere...LOL!

One more thing, tonight is payback time! She dragged me to see Lifehouse... I'm dragging her to see my Keith Urban at HP Pavilion. It'll be a blast! Well, for me at least...LOL! I can't wait.

Double Challenge

Here's a card that I created for Beate of Fresh and Fun weekend sketch challenge and for Splitcoast Stampers Ways to Use It challenge which is to find ways to use your computer, whether to create a sentiment, use some digital paper or image. I decided to print these freebie digital paper that I've been saving on my computer since last year.

This will be my card for my Mom for Mother's Day. I'm posting it because she doesn't frequent my site anyway.

The card base is a Whisper White card stock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The digital paper came in two different colors, pink and yellow and I'm not sure if you can tell but it says "Mom" on it, it's layered with Certainly Celery card stock. The sentiment in the middle of the card, is from the set Women of Life by Papertrey Ink on a Whisper White card stock and layered it with Certainly Celery. The pink and yellow flowers are also from the digital freebie cut and raised with stampin' dimensional. I added a green adhesive rhinestone in the middle of each flower.

I also made a Mother's Day card for my sister and a friend of mine, using the same digital paper but used a different layout but not sure if I should post it because they visit me here everyday. Hmm 2... I'll just post it anyway. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.

Blooming with Happiness and My very first Award!

Happy FridayY'all!

Cards for today is made with the same stamp set that I used from yesterdays post Blooming with Happiness. I was so inspired to use the set again. I just love the dress and wish I have the body to wear a dress like this ... but something inside of me keep saying....You're Dreaming LOL!

The dress is stamped on Whisper White card stock using Jet Black staz-on ink and water-colored with Regal Rose, Rose Red and Pretty in Pink classic ink and punched using Marvy Giga Scallop punch. You can't see it on the photo but the flowers are covered with Crystal Stickles. The card base is measured 4" x 4" of Regal Rose card stock and layered with 1 1/2" x 4" Rose Red card stock . Before the image is adhered with a Stampin' dimensional, a sheer ribbon is tied on the card. The prima flower is dipped on Iridescent Ice powder. This card is really pretty IRL!

I had a hard time on the color combination on the second card but I know I wanted to use So Saffron and prima flowers. I was going to my prima jar and yellow and blue looks great together. The dress was stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and water-colored using Bashful Blue and Ballet Blue classic ink. I wanted the dress to pop-up, so I added the Marvy Square Scallop punch and punch ed it again with 1 1/2 square punch. Layered it with 1 1/2 x 5 1/2 Chocolate Chip card stock, added 3 prima flowers and added rhinestones in the middle. Card base is measured 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and stamped single flower randomly with Versamark ink.

On to my very first award ... that's right! I'm so excited when Becky Givans of
Bouncy...Flouncy...Fun...Fun
, emailed me and awarded me this. Thanks Becky, you sure made my day! Please make sure to visit her blog when you get a chance!
Now, here's the hard part, I'm supposed to nominate 10 people who inspire me. There's so many talented bloggers out there and it's so hard to pick just ten, so anyone reading this, consider yourself awarded. But, here are my picks Carolyn King, Beate Johns, Anna Wight , Genevieve Cassady, Janine Orchard , Kristina Werner , Lauren Meader , Rose Ann Reynolds, Debbie Olson.

Oldie But Goodie

I'm tired and home sick, all because of LifeHouse. Well, not really. It's all because of my sister Penny....just kidding. She actually asked me months ago to see LifeHouse and I graciously said yes because there will be a time when I'll be asking her a favor... like going to see Keith Urban Drooling Bouncy Smiley (<--- that's actually me every time I say his name, well, minus the drool) next week. I can't wait and yes, I'm dragging her to see Mr. Urban. Here's Jason Wade, the lead singer of the band. She thinks he's a hottie and that he was singing to her all night long...LOL! (and yes, when she reads this she'll say... BUT HE WAS!)

Here are two cards I created a couple of weeks ago and again forgot to post. I wanted to use these ribbons that I bought at Michael's $ bin (not bad for 3 yards). So, that's where the color combination came from. Both images on both cards are from a retired Stampin' Up stamp set Blooming with Happiness.

For the first card, the dress is stamped on a Whisper White card stock with Jet Black Staz-on ink and water-colored with Green Galore classic ink. Some of the flowers on the dress are covered with Crystal Stickles, layered with Real Red and Chocolate Chip card stock and punched the corners with corner ticket punch. Card base is Green Galore card stock and stamped flowers randomly with Versamark ink. The sentiment is from the same set also.
Again, I used the same colors from the ribbon. Cake was stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and punched using Marvy Mega circle punch, water-colored with Rose Red, Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip classic ink and layered Rose Red card stock with Marvy Scallop Giga punch. Rose Red card stock and Bashful Blue card stock was run through Cuttlebug using Divine Swirl folder and layered with Chocolate Chip card stock.

Another Cupcake Just for You

Happy Hump Day! This was last weeks SCS (Splitcoast Stampers) sketch challenge.

The image is from Whipper Snapper Design, Swingin' Monkey
and was stamped on a Whisper White card stock with Jet Black Staz-on ink, water-colored using Close to Cocoa and Really Rust classic ink.The branch was colored using Chocolate Chip classic ink. The cupcake is the same cupcake that I used from yesterdays post stamped on a separate Whisper White card stock, cut-out and raised with stampin' dimensional. The icing on the cupcake is covered with Liquid Applique and topped with a faux dew drop as a cherry. One of the reasons I bought this monkey is for the possibility of him holding anything. The patterned paper is from Walmart for $1.99 for a pack of30... what a great deal! Card is finished with Chocolate Chip satin ribbon.

Stamps: Swingin' Monkey from Whipper Snapper Design, sentiment from Many Saying by Stampin' Up

Paper: Whisper White and Chocolate Chip card stock from
Stampin' Up, and Patterned Paper from Walmart

Ink: StāzOn Jet Black

Cupcake with Cherry on Top

Thank you so much to everyone who left a comment on my Chocolate Bunnies. You sure know how to make my day. =)

Anyway, here's a card that I made for Lauren Meader of My Time... weekend sketch challenge couple of weeks ago. I really like the card that she created for this sketch and wanted to use some of patterned paper that I used from my previous card. It's so hard for me to throw some of the scraps especially patterned paper, and these scraps are so perfect for Lauren's sketch.

Cupcake is from Michael's $ bin and was stamped on Whisper White card stock with Staz-on Jet Black ink and stamped again on the same Polka Dot patterned paper to use as a cupcake liner. Water-colored the icing with Pretty in Pink classic ink and topped with faux dew drops (yes, got this idea from Lauren also) as a cherry. Layered with 1 1/2 circle punch Chocolate Chip card stock, adhered it on 2" x 2 1/2" Whisper White card stock and layered it again with Chocolate Chip card stock. Both Patterned Paper is from Paper Marcella by K and finished it with Chocolate Chip satin ribbon and Chocolate Chip photo corner with faux dew drops. I have another card using the same cupcake for tomorrow, so be sure to come and visit again. Have a great day!

Stamps: Cupcake from Michael's $ bin

Ink: Jet Black Staz-on

Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip from Stampin' Up and Patterned Paper from Paper Marcella by K

Accessories: Photo Corner Punch, 1 3/8 and 1 1/2 circle punch, chocolate chip satin ribbon and faux dew drops

Chocolate Bunnies

Don't you just love chocolate bunnies? This is not your typical Easter Chocolate Bunnies but just a plain old Hershey Nugget wearing his Easter Bunny costume... or should I say Easter's Best! Bunny Suit I found these cute little bunnies at Splitcoast Stampers (SCS) sometime last week (sorry, I can't find the link) and wanted to try it. I'm so glad that I finally received my new Anna Wight stamp set Spring Has Sprung from Whipper Snapper. This is the first thing I created from her new set.

The bunny head was stamped on a Whisper White card stock with Jet Black Staz-on ink, water-colored using Pretty in Pink classic ink and popped up with dimensional on chocolate Hershey Nugget. I used Limitless Labels from Paper Trey Ink for the body by stamping it on 1 x 2 5/8 white labels with Pretty in Pink. For his tail, I used the clouds on Boatloads of Fun from Stampin' Up. They are so adorable that you don't want to eat them at all Chocolate Bunny <--- well maybe not! Happy Monday!
