Fun at the Beach

These boys are having so much fun at the beach and it's just way too hot so they went to buy a popsicles to cool down.

And, not to be outdone, these girls are doing what girls always do... look good. And, they have to match their polka dot bikini's with a glittery flower.

Both cards are for Beate's Weekly Sketch Challenge. Penguin Dude and Penguin Chick is from Imaginisce, A Shore Thing Collection. I was lucky to snag these stamp for only .29 cents when our LSS was closing. And, I have to used these cuties before the summer ends. Both patterned paper is from Stampin' Up, Cutie Pie, Designer Series Paper. The boys popsicles are covered with liquid applique and the girls are wearing mini-prima flowers and covered with Martha Stewart, gemstone glitter.

There are mice in the house!

Well... not literally! Just found 2 more blogs over the weekend when I was home alone with weekly challenges and why not join in with everyone?!

Here's my creation for Penny Black Saturday Challenge and the challenge is NO CARDS ALLOWED. A friend from work loves to go to the movies every weekend and Costco has this great deal for 2 movie tickets for $14 but the envelope was just too plain! I didn't just want to insert the movie tickets on a card so I made my own movie ticket holder....I know the challenge asked for no cards allowed but really it's not...LOL! (I just forgot to take a picture of what it looks like inside.)

And here's my card for last week's challenge at House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge. For their first challenge they want to see anything based on something "NEW", a great way to start a challenge with a brand new blog. I was a little late posting this but I thought I'd share what I created.

I can't find the right sentiment to put on this card but just looking at these two, it seems like they're celebrating their new found love!

Simply Adorable

What do you do when you work 8 hours a day, help your child with homework, make sure your work clothes and your child's uniform are ready for the next day, and get your lunch and your child's lunch packed for the next day? You do 2 challenges in 1!

When I saw Kristina's color inspiration for this week, I was really excited! I just {heart} these colors together. Though pink pirouette is one of the new Stampin' Up In Color for this year, it was added as a favorite right away. And when I stumbled on Sarah Kay Weekly Challenges early this week, it just have to be added to my weekly to do list. So, when I got home from work last night, while helping my daughter with her homework and doing laundry at the same time, I CREATED and here's my card for this week's both Kristina Werner's color inspiration and Sarah Kay's sketch challenge.

The main image is Sarah Kay Rose's Garden and was stamped on Very Vanilla and matted with Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip card stock and watercolored the image with SU re-inkers. Certain Celery and Regal Rose DSP were matted with Chocolate Chip card stock. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up Cute Converse set, stamped on Very Vanilla, punched using small oval punch, and matted with Chocolate Chip punched using large oval. I finished the card with Chocolate Chip gross grain ribbon and pink dew drops. Card base is 5" square card.

In the midnight hour, she cried more, more, more
With a rebel yell, she cried more, more, more.

That would be Billy Idol, Rebel Yell!

And, this is me with more cards that I created over the weekend when I was home alone. I was able to participate with more challenges and oh, how fun it is. Jump For Joy

I'm on a roll with Tracy's Thursday's sketch challenge, this is her 3rd sketch and I was able to participate on all 3... how cool is that? This cute fishing penguin is by A Muse and while she's fishing something for dinner, she's thinking of someone really special... Ummm , who could it be?

The second card is for All that Scraps #14 Sketch Challenge. The butterfly is from CC Designs, Beautiful Butterflies. I stamped the image on Whisper White card stock with Timber Brown staz-on ink and matted with Chocolate Chip card stock. The patterned paper is from Autumn Leaves, I was really not happy when I was done with the card, it seems like there's something missing. So, I stamped the butterfly again on the same patterned paper and adhered it on top and added some crystal stickles. The prima flowers are added at the end and topped with adhesive rhinestones.

I sure hope you have a beautiful day!

Happy Monday!

Since I'm only a Stampin' Up hobby demo, there's no way I would be able to get any of the Level 2 or Level 3 hostess sets... well, unless I spend $300 worth of Stampin' Up goodies in one order, which it's really easy to do with all their wonderful stamps but I just couldn't afford that. Luckily, SU offers a hostess sets for pre-order for both level 2 and level 3 with a discount...cool huh!

Serene Spring is the set I ordered and I'm so glad I did and can you see the flowers? They are covered with Baby Pink Flower Soft, it adds texture and dimension to your cards... very pretty. You can check this video on how to use this product.

Happy Monday and see you tomorrow!

Falling in Love

No, not me.... just these two cuties. Not really sure what they are but aren't they adorable? The image is from Stampavie and illustrated by Rachelle Anne Miller.

The sketch is by Lauren Meader of My Time..., she hosts a sketch challenge every weekend and since I'm home alone this weekend, I thought of continuing what I've been doing for the last 2 days... STAMP! I printed the sentiment on the computer and placed it on a heart metal tag by Making Memories. An ex-boyfriend wrote this to me loooong time ago and I've always loved it (wishing he's still in-love with me...LOL!) and thought I'd let these two borrow it for now .Teethy

Challenges

What do you do when you take some time off from work and your daughter started school, and you have piles of laundry to do, dishes laying around and the house needs to be cleaned? STAMP...right, right?!? Because that's what I did today. Well, after I dropped off my daughter from school, pick up my Jeep from a body shop and took it to get an oil change, I went home and STAMP.

My first card is for a TCP (The Cat's Pajamas) Challenge and was hosted by the Hipster Hostess Toni Armstrong of Moved to the Mountains. And this weeks challenge is a color challenge using BLUE and ORANGE.

My 2nd card is for Kristina Werner's color inspiration. And this weeks color combination is Basic Black, Going Gray, Whisper White and a color of your choice and I choose to use Certain Celery.

And last but not the least, it's Beate's sketch challenge. I'm really not happy with the card I created, so I'll make sure to make another card using the same layout.

I'll be back to post detail with all 3 cards later today and post more cards that I created for this weeks challenges.

Chocolate Chips....anyone?

This week's try a new technique at Splitcoast Stampers is to make a treat box using acetate. You can see the instruction for this cute boxes by clicking here.

And I have the perfect stamp for what I just wanted to put on this cute box...Chocolate Chips Cookies...YUM! Just wished I have a heart shaped cookie to match Tilda's newly baked cookies. And, if I don't wait until the last minute, these boxes would be perfect for Halloween treats for my daughter's class... Will see and knowing me, I'll wait until the last minute and decide I'll just do it next year...LOL!

Monkeying around

It's Friday and we all deserve too... right? And who wouldn't love to hang out with this Swinging Monkey and he's ready to share his cupcake with anyone who wants to play with him.

I had this layout in my head ever since I got this stamp from Whipper Snapper Design but always thought it would be too much work and guess what.... it is, LOL! But, it's so worth it! I had the main image stamped in the middle of a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 whisper white card stock and used my oval Coluzzle to create a window and cut around him and the branch. I created a frame using oval coluzzle with chocolate chip card stock to high lite the image. The patterned paper is from a left over from this card. The cupcake is from Michael's dollar bin, covered with white liquid applique for a delicious icing and topped with a red dew drop as a cherry.

I probably over used this cupcake a lot but it's just a great addition to any card. Perfect when Skoober need to bring something to a birthday party, when Dude need to carry something on his back, Lauren's sketch challenge, or just sharing a cupcake just for you.

Happy Friday and hope you have a great weekend!
