Simply Loonie

I really like the card I created last week when I combined the 2 challenges from Clean and Simple Stamping and Loonie Stamper's Challenge. And I thought of doing the same thing this week... mmmm, maybe I can keep on doing the same thing every week. That would be a great challenge for me and let's see if I can keep it up :)

Loonie Stamper's Challenge color choice this week is Dark Chocolate, Sweet Blush and Vintage Cream, with polka dots or flowers. I wanted to use a brown prima flowers for the main image but I don't have any so I used a retired Stampin' Up flower punch with Chocolate Chip card stock and topped with self-adhesive pearl. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up, Heard from the Heart set (I can see myself using this set again and again!). When I was done with the card, it seems like there's something missing on the base of the card so I punched more flowers with Blush Blossom card stock and adhered it to create a faux dry embossing look. Pretty simple layout but it look so elegant...in my opinion! :)

Stamp: Heard from the Heart from Stampin' Up

Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and Blush Blossom card stock from Stampin' Up

Ink: Chocolate Chip classic ink from Stampin

Accessories: Flower Punch, Self-Adhesive pearl, corner rounder punch and stamping dimensional

I LOVE it! The punches flowers on the base are such a wonderful touch! They add such dimension and interest without cluttering up your clean design! BTW, you can dye any light colored Primas you have just by smashing them into your Chocolate pad. I do this ALL the time. The color is usually a little splotchy, so I give it a couple of sprays with a coordinating Glimmer Mist, which spreads the color out and adds shimmer. If you don't have any GM, just use a wet paint brush to work the color around.

Stunning card! I love the faux embossing using punches. Great technique. I just noticed you live in the garlic capital of the world. We used to drive through there when we lived in Paso Robles. I heard you could find garlic ice cream in Gilroy. Needless to say, we never went searching for it. LOL.
