Hey there.. Dahlia!

Yesterdays TLC (Technique Lover's Challenge) at SCS was to make a card using Dahlia Fold. The name of the technique made me think of the song Hey, there Delilah (and this song have been going through my head since last night). I have never tried this technique and I'm pretty glad that I did. I made two.

No stamping on the first card at all just folding, I almost gave up after the 2nd fold but I'm glad I hung on. I had a really hard time folding 8 (yes, 8!) little circles. I was not really crazy about the patterned paper I used for the flower at first when I was doing the fold but once I started assembling the card and used the same patterned paper for the background, it came out really nice...don't you think?

Paper: Lavander Lace, Basic Black from Stampin' Up and Pattern Paper by Mara-Mi

Accessories: Wide black sheer ribbon, thank you charm, self adhesive flower, silver cord and stampin' dimentional

After I made the first card, I wanted to try it using my scallop punch. I've seen some cards at SCS and several people said that it was easier to fold it, so there I was at midnight, folding 8 scallop circles and finished the card this morning...(I'm home sick todaySicky ). This is actually harder to fold than the previous one and when I was trying to put it together I have some gaps in between.

Stamps: Celebrate Everything by Stampin' Up

Ink: Old Olive Classic Ink from Stampin' Up

Paper: Cameo Coral, Old Olive, Whisper White and Pattern Paper from Scrapbook Walls

Accesories: Scallop Punch, Coluzzle Circle template, Flower and Circle brad

These are just lovely. The papers that you used are perfect, too. Nice job. (I like your blog, too!)
