Super Tuesday and Posies for You

This morning my daughter Toni (7 years old) reminded me that it's Super Tuesday and we have to vote, this is our conversation this morning before going to school/work.

T: Mom, who are you voting for?

M: Not sure yet

T: I'm voting for Fred Thompson for President

M: Why are you voting for him

T: Because he seems like a very nice guy

M: You can't just vote for someone because you think he's a nice guy

T: Well, I'm voting for him because he's old but I think Bomama will be our next President of the United States

Onto the card --- It's been awhile since the last time I created a card for a Featured Stamper. This is the time that you are able to CASE someone's work, and some of the guidelines are to change two or more things on the card and give credit to the original stamper but I've been on a roll lately, that I was actually able to make two cards last night for Featured Stamper and 1 for Lauren Meader of My Time ... sketch challenge over the weekend. Phew! 3 cards in one night.

This week’s Featured Stamper at SCS is Renee of Stamping for Sanity. There are two cards in her gallery that I fell in love with. Well actually, there are a lot more but decided on CASEing two. I thought it would be perfect to use my new stamp set Posies for You by Anna Wight at Whipper Snapper.

This (<<--- click here) is the first card I cased. I changed the stamp set and the color combination, and kept the same layout. Flowers are stamped in Staz-on Timber Brown and painted it with a water brush Stampin' Up reinkers. Also, added some crystal stickles in the middle of the flower.

Paper: Whisper White, Tempting Turquiose, Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink card stock from
Stampin' Up

Ink: Staz-On Timber Brown

Accessories: Tag Punch, Small Tag Punch, Word Window Punch, Paper Piercing, Crstal Stickles

For the second, I chose to case this card. I also kept the same layout and color combination but changed the stamp set using Posies for You. There are a total of 8 flowers on this set and love them all! I know for sure that I’ll be pulling these flowers more often.

Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, River Rock and Close to Cocoa card stock from Stampin' Up

Ink: Staz-On Timber Brown

Accessories: Distressing tool, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon

<--- This card is for Lauren Meader's simple sketch challenge over the weekend. Again, the same flower on this card is from Whipper Snapper, Posies for You. I really didn't care for this flower when I first saw it but as soon as I stamped it and started coloring it, I actually loved it. The center of the flower and the trail on the butterfly are covered with crystal stickles.
