Embrace Life

Last week's color challenge was Orchid Opulence. WHAT?!? I have not used this color for a while! Certainly Celery and Pumpkin Pie.... Don't they remind you of Halloween colors? Anyway, this was a hard color combination for me to use but I did it! This was actually a second card I created with the same stamp and layout but forgot to use Pumpkin Pie and had to go back again.

I've wanted to try the Faux Silk technique for awhile now and thought it would be perfect to do this for this card with this set. I started by stamping the flower blossoms from Embrace Life from Stampin' Up randomly on a piece of tissue paper with Jet Black Stazon Ink, water colored using Orchid Opulence and Certainly Celery classic ink with Aqua Painter. Once it dried, I crumpled the tissue paper. I applied glue stick on a whisper white card stock and spread the tissue paper, then trimmed the excess tissue paper and layered it with Basic Black, Certainly Celery and Orchid Opulence and added black sheer polka dot ribbon. The sentiment was from the same stamp set on a 1 3/8 circle punch whisper white card stock and layered it with black scallop circle. The card base pumpkin pie card stock measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The leaf is stamped randomly with versa mark ink and punched some hole on both corners with paper piercing tool.

Stamps: Embrace Life by Stampin' Up

Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Orchid Opulence, Certainly Celery, Basic Black and Whisper White Card Stock from Stampin' Up

Ink: Orchid Opulence, Certainly Celery, Basic Black classic ink from Stampin' Up and Versa Mark

Accessories: Tissue Paper, 1 3/8 circle punch, scallop punch, paper piercing tool, Black sheer polka dot ribbon
