Happy Monday!

Since I'm only a Stampin' Up hobby demo, there's no way I would be able to get any of the Level 2 or Level 3 hostess sets... well, unless I spend $300 worth of Stampin' Up goodies in one order, which it's really easy to do with all their wonderful stamps but I just couldn't afford that. Luckily, SU offers a hostess sets for pre-order for both level 2 and level 3 with a discount...cool huh!

Serene Spring is the set I ordered and I'm so glad I did and can you see the flowers? They are covered with Baby Pink Flower Soft, it adds texture and dimension to your cards... very pretty. You can check this video on how to use this product.

Happy Monday and see you tomorrow!

Falling in Love

No, not me.... just these two cuties. Not really sure what they are but aren't they adorable? The image is from Stampavie and illustrated by Rachelle Anne Miller.

The sketch is by Lauren Meader of My Time..., she hosts a sketch challenge every weekend and since I'm home alone this weekend, I thought of continuing what I've been doing for the last 2 days... STAMP! I printed the sentiment on the computer and placed it on a heart metal tag by Making Memories. An ex-boyfriend wrote this to me loooong time ago and I've always loved it (wishing he's still in-love with me...LOL!) and thought I'd let these two borrow it for now .Teethy

Taylored Expression Cupcake Challenge #30

It's time for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge and here's my card for this week's sketch challenge. I wanted to use the same color combination from the patterned paper used here but not really happy how it came out. Don't you just hate when that happens. Oh well!

The main image and sentiment is from Stampendous Merry Muffin set. Fluffles is not supposed to be on top of this cupcake but who couldn't resist being on top of this delish icing?

Challenges

What do you do when you take some time off from work and your daughter started school, and you have piles of laundry to do, dishes laying around and the house needs to be cleaned? STAMP...right, right?!? Because that's what I did today. Well, after I dropped off my daughter from school, pick up my Jeep from a body shop and took it to get an oil change, I went home and STAMP.

My first card is for a TCP (The Cat's Pajamas) Challenge and was hosted by the Hipster Hostess Toni Armstrong of Moved to the Mountains. And this weeks challenge is a color challenge using BLUE and ORANGE.

My 2nd card is for Kristina Werner's color inspiration. And this weeks color combination is Basic Black, Going Gray, Whisper White and a color of your choice and I choose to use Certain Celery.

And last but not the least, it's Beate's sketch challenge. I'm really not happy with the card I created, so I'll make sure to make another card using the same layout.

I'll be back to post detail with all 3 cards later today and post more cards that I created for this weeks challenges.

Chocolate Chips....anyone?

This week's try a new technique at Splitcoast Stampers is to make a treat box using acetate. You can see the instruction for this cute boxes by clicking here.

And I have the perfect stamp for what I just wanted to put on this cute box...Chocolate Chips Cookies...YUM! Just wished I have a heart shaped cookie to match Tilda's newly baked cookies. And, if I don't wait until the last minute, these boxes would be perfect for Halloween treats for my daughter's class... Will see and knowing me, I'll wait until the last minute and decide I'll just do it next year...LOL!

Here's this weeks sketch challenge from Tracy of Eat, Sleep, Stamp and since the sketch was inkspired from one of an A Muse designer - Erika, I thought of using my A Muse neglected stamps.

Monkeying around

It's Friday and we all deserve too... right? And who wouldn't love to hang out with this Swinging Monkey and he's ready to share his cupcake with anyone who wants to play with him.

I had this layout in my head ever since I got this stamp from Whipper Snapper Design but always thought it would be too much work and guess what.... it is, LOL! But, it's so worth it! I had the main image stamped in the middle of a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 whisper white card stock and used my oval Coluzzle to create a window and cut around him and the branch. I created a frame using oval coluzzle with chocolate chip card stock to high lite the image. The patterned paper is from a left over from this card. The cupcake is from Michael's dollar bin, covered with white liquid applique for a delicious icing and topped with a red dew drop as a cherry.

I probably over used this cupcake a lot but it's just a great addition to any card. Perfect when Skoober need to bring something to a birthday party, when Dude need to carry something on his back, Lauren's sketch challenge, or just sharing a cupcake just for you.

Happy Friday and hope you have a great weekend!

The main image Butterfly Bear is from Penny Black and the butterfly is from Michael's dollar bin that I recently purchased. The sentiment is from Love and Happiness Rub-Ons from Stampin' Up. Just don't look closely on the card, I didn't realize it until today that I went outside the line...LOL!

Missing U!

I hope you guys won't get tired with these Doddle Factory Creatures from Starving Artiststamps. They are just too adorable to not play with them!

This time I used the small ones to fit as much as I can in the card. This card is for my nephew Michael who just graduated from Navy bootcamp a couple of weeks ago. I wanted his cousins, his brother and sister to sign it and those creatures represent our very own creatures in the family...LOL! The kids had fun picking their own creatures as themselves. I saw this layout on one of the blogs I visited last week but cannot remember who it was...sorry!

And, Tracy of Eat, Sleep, Stamp is hosting her very own sketch challenge and I just had to play along with everyone else. I have this flowery bee from Stampendous for awhile now and thought it would be perfect for this layout. Their wings are covered with Ice Stickles and I put a flower brad to match the color of the patterned paper.

Yapples is one of the creatures from Doodle Factory by Starving Artiststamps, and he's here to greet my nephew, Ian, a Happy 12th Birthday! Well, it was actually last Friday but with connection problems at home, he had to wait to be posted here.

And so, of my other creatures with the expressions on their faces, here's Yapple's story... He's excited that it's Ian's 12th birthday and to know that he's going to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk with them. He also just realized that he has a belly button and that he's naked! LOL!

Smile!

I've been having issues with my DSL connection at home since Tuesday and cannot find my USB flash card to transfer files so I can upload at work. Good thing I had this card emailed to work a couple of weeks ago when Stephanie Hargis was a Featured Stamper at SCS.

Her gallery is full of beautiful cards and it's so hard not to pick one but here's the card that I chose to CASE. I used the same image from her card but just changed the color combination and the sentiment. Again, just a simple card but it ended up really elegant...in my opinion!

And a newfound blogger friend Donna Baker of Serenity in Stamping sent this beautiful card after leaving her a comment. She's the new design team of Starving Artistamps. I've been playing with my new friendly creatures but again cannot post anything with my DSL dilemma and thanks to her, I was able to get some stamps with a discount! So if you want your very own Doodlefactory Collection, check out Donna's blog and get the discount code. Thanks again, Donna!

Square Spring Card

Today's try a new technique at Splitcoast Stampers is make a Spring Card, they sure look complicated but really they're not, well as long as you follow the directions, they are really easy. So when I got home from work today, that's what I did. I knew the image to use already and I've been practicing the fold while I was work (on my break ... really!) and all I had to do is just go through my piles of patterned paper and VOILA!

Stamps: Embrace by Penny Black and sentiment from Absolutely Fabulous by Stampin' Up

Paper: Whisper White and Pretty in Pink card stock from Stampin' Up and Pattern Paper by Mind's Eye Collection

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #27

I'm still playing with my new rubah Doodle Factory Creatures from Starving Ariststamps and what a perfect way to use them is to join in the fun with Taylor's Cupcake Sketch Challenge.

I wasn't really too crazy with these creatures when I first saw them but the more I used them the more I love them. But, I'm still having issues with coloring them...oh well!

I use Skoober for the first card, I'm really not sure if he's not too happy that he's going to a birthday party or because he's wearing that silly hat with a matching shirt..LOL! And again, what's Taylor's challenge without a cupcake? The cupcake is from House-Mouse designs Make a Wish (<-- see this card), stamped on whisper white card stock cut and raised with stamping dimensional and what's a cupcake without a frosting...YUM! The sentiment is a rub-on from Stampin' Up Love
and Happiness.

And this is Rupert. Isn't he adorable? It's either he did something really, really bad and trying to apologize with a single flower on his hand or just being sweet as always giving someone a flower... just because!

I hope you had a great weekend! I had a very relaxing weekend, just stayed home, watch baseball games on TV and play with my new creatures.

Dance like no one's watching

When I saw this card by Donna at Serenity Stamping, I knew I'll be in trouble and fortunately before I get my hands with some of the Doodlefactory Collection © Starving Artistamps, she announced that she's part of the Design Team and offered a discount, so I placed my order right away last week. I've been watching my mailbox everyday to see if my little creatures made it home and today when I get home, I was doing the same dance as Twinkx.

The layout used for this card is from Taylor of Taylored Expressions Cupcake Sketch Challenge 14 which she posted couple of months ago as I challenge myself to try any challenge to get my MOJO back. And make sure to visit her today to see what challenge she's up to for today.
The color combination was pulled from the ribbon used here from American Crafts Uptown Brown. I was not really happy how I water-colored Twinkx but I'll be back and master coloring these cute creatures. The sentiment was printed on Microsoft Word, I wanted it to be a line from song .... something like "It's Friday, It's Payday" but for the life of me, I cannot remember it, maybe someone can tell me, if not just like Twinkx is doing... Dance like no one's watching!

Oh, and make sure to visit Starving Artistamps to see their new release stamps and to enter the blog candy. All you have to do is spread the word on your blog and post a comment telling Irene what new collections you would like to see in the future.

Happy Friday and hope you have a great weekend!
