Mouse under a hat?

Two cards in one day?!? Well, the first one was supposed to be posted yesterday but I was having issues posting it while I was home and I thought I emailed the file to work but it didn't go through.

Anyway, I really don't do well with color challenges and it's been awhile since the last time I join the Loonie bunch team...LOL! So, when I saw their color challenge last week and tried several attempt, I literally gave up but tried it again when I saw Ashley's card :). But, I still able to messed up on this challenge because they're asking for a Birthday theme...oh well, I tried!

The flowers are from Flower Garden set from PTI. I thought I had some brown crystal beads to make the center of the flowers popped and I think the card will look prettier but I had to settle with what I have...pink crystal beads.

The second card is for Amy of Prairie Paper and Ink, Friday Sketch Challenge. This Mouse Under the Hat is from Whiff of Joy. I grab the colors from the patterned paper that I used on this card.

The mouse was stamped on whisper white card stock, stamped again, cut and raised with stamping dimensional.

Tomorrow, I hope you join me and the rest of the BearyBox Design Team on a fun sketch challenge. Want a sneak peak for this week's goody bag? Click here :)

Purr-fect Love

Oh, am I so glad to be able to stamp again! I've missed my stamps, card stocks, inks and oh, those ribbons... LOL! Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome and warm wishes, I sure do appreciate you all.

The main image is from Stampavie, Lelo Design You Go First. I purchased some of the Lelo Design after the holidays as a Christmas gift for myself and I've been dying to use them. They are just adorable and I think these two are just purr-fect for Valentines Day.

Anyway, while browsing thru blogs and getting my mojo back into action, I saw Monica's sketch challenge last week for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge. A little late for all 8 sketch challenges but I sure would love to join in the fun. I used my new Scallop Circle Nestabilities that I got this Christmas from my sister (thanks, Pen!) for the base of the card. The heart is a chipboard and sponged using Red Riding Hood classic ink and sentiment is a Stampin' Up rub-on.

This weekend ..... I plan to STAMP, STAMP, STAMP! :)

BearyBox Sketch#7

I don't think I followed the sketch this week, but for sure I wanted to use my new Sarah Kay stamps by Stampavie and there's no way it can fit so I had to rotate the sketch and tried to keep it as close to the sketch as possible.

Want to get this adorable stamps? BearyBox is now carrying them, check out their prices, most stores sells them for $9.99 but they sell Sarah Kay stamps for $8.99. And make sure to join us for this weeks sketch challenge BearyBox is giving away $10.00 gift certificate, with your winnings you'll be able to buy these stamps :)

I used the same color combination from my last card, I had these card stocks on my craft table laying around and I really like it so why not use it one more time.

Visit us here to see the details for this weeks sketch challenge.

I'm done shopping!!!

Just need to wrapped all the presents and I'm done! Well, all the gifts for friends and family are done but not for my Toni. She's 8 years-old and I think she starting to know that Santa is Mom but really don't want to believe that knowing that she won't receive anything from him...LOL! This weekend, I asked her if she can make a letter for Santa (I think hearing from me saying that I don't have extra money for a lot of gifts this year) she wants Santa to give her a Marley and Me book (I wanted to cry when she said that) but, then she started adding stuff on her Santa list...LOL!

Anyway, I haven't been creating lately, been stressed and tired of the house hunting and by the time I get home, I just want to go to bed. I actually made this card sometime last week, when Dawns a.k.a. FlowerGal36 was the Featured Stamper on SCS. This is the card I CASE'd, I really like the colors that she used, so I kept everything the same and just change the image. The main image is from Whipper Snapper, Lovely Christmas Presents.

And when I found out last week that BearyBox will be carrying Sarah Kay Collection II, starting today, I thought why not use my Sarah Kay Rose's Garden for this weeks sketch challenge. Image was stamped on Whisper White card stock and colored with Stampin' Up re-inkers. I cut the image out with my Oval Coluzzle template and cut Chocolate Chip cardstock with the next bigger Coluzzle oval, I added the scallops with the corner rounder punch. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye pack that I purchased from Costco last year. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Green Thumb, finished the card with Chocolate Chip gross grain ribbon.

CSCC Presents The Sound of Music

When I saw that the movie pick for this week at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge was The Sound of Music, the first thing I thought was the song "My Favorite Things". And, my card was inspired from Maria's song...

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes Silver white winters that melt into Springs
These are a few of my favorite things

The layout is from this week's Featured Stamper at SCS, Annascreations. Here's the card that I choose to CASE. Sophia was stamped on Whisper White card stock, her dress was colored using white shimmer paints and SU Pacific Point re-inkers. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Christmas Glitter Collection.

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #45

A day late for Taylor's sketch challenge but I just love this sketch. I can do sketch challenges but when it comes to color combination, I have the hardest time with it. So, just like what I always do with most of my cards, I would pick the best image for the sketch, grab some pattered paper and use that as an inspiration.

Main image is from Whipper Snapper Design, Flowerpot & Mouse, stamped on Whisper White card stock, water-colored the image with SU re-inkers, The flowers and the mouse was stamped on a separate card stock, cut-out raised with stamping dimensional. I colored my mini prima flowers to match with stamped flower image.

Make sure to check out this post to win some Whimsy Stamps. You have until, Sunday, December 14th, 6PM EST.

Stamp: Flowerpot & Mouse from Whisper Snapper Design

Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Red Riding Hood, Pink Pirouette and patterned paper is from American Crafts

Be Merry

Still having fun at Dawns a.k.a. FlowerGal36's gallery for this week's Featured Stamper on SCS.

So, I thought why not CASE'd another card of hers. Here's the card I CASE'd from her gallery, again I used the same layout as her card but change the main image and the color combination.

Main image is Charlie Snowhorse from Clear Dollar Stamps, stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and colored him using Prisma water-color pencils. The ground is covered with crystal effects and drizzle it with Martha Stewart snow glitter. I did the same thing with the punched snowflakes.

Stamps: Charlie Snowhorse from Clear Dollar Stamps

Paper: Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip card stock by Stampin Up

Ink: Basic Black Classic Ink and Prisma water-color pencils

Accessories: Martha Stewart Snow Punch, MS snow glitter, Cuttle Bug, Snowflake CB embossing folder

I kept the same layout of the card and change the image and the color combination. Back to Simply Loonie

I want to thank everyone who commented about my first tutorial and I can imagine your husband will be asking how come you're buying coffee filters often or buying coffee filters even if you're not a coffee drinker...LOL! I would love to see what you guys do with your filters :)

Pen (<-- my sister), if you want to be surprise for your birthday, stop reading NOW!

I created this card for my sisters birthday next week over the weekend and intend to post it on her birthday but I was too tired to create last night so I'm posting it today. Anyway, I've missed couple of weeks of combining both challenges from Clean and Simple Stamping (sketch) and Loonie Stamper's Challenge (color combination) and here it is.

Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Brushed Silver from Stampin' Up

Ink
: Basic Black and Real red classic ink

Accessories

My very first tutorial.

Several people asked how I made my coffee filter flowers and several people ask me...ME! to do tutorial. The first time I saw a comment about a tutorial, I actually laugh out loud but just because I'm making another card using coffee filters, I thought of doing a mini tutorial. Here it goes and hope you like it.

I started with these coffee filters. My coffee maker holds the cone shape filters and I bought this by mistake. I already opened the package, so there's no way I'll be able to return them.

Fold your coffee filters in half and I fold mine in half about three times. It's really up to you how you want your flowers to look like.

Cut your flowers in different sizes.

I use my Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red re-inkers to die my coffee filters. Again, it's up to you on how much ink you want to use, it really depends on how dark you want your flowers to look like.

This is how I dry my flowers. It takes about 1/2 an hour to dry but if you're impatient like me, have your tweezers ready to hold on to these flowers and blow dry them, in two minutes it's ready to be used.

And TADAH! Here's my finished card with my coffee filter flower. I really wished I can take a better picture of all my cards, they sure do look better IRL, especially this one! And I used Tracy's of Eat, Sleep, Stamp sketch layout. And she asked (politely) NOT to use any images, I had these rub-on sentiments that I bought months ago and I almost forgot about them. Now, it's your turn to make this easy peasy flowers :)

Together...we make music!

My sweet blogger friend Holly of Hog Wild About Stamping, emailed me sometime last week and asked me if I can do something with the images that she'll send me. Her daughter Chesney, the same Chesney who design the same stamps that My Favorite Things carries called BC Dzyns.

This image and more will be available online as downloadable digital image sometime next week at www.squigglefly.com. You want to see more sneak peaks? You have to go check out what Sarah of The Scrampin' Mama created with 2 of Chesney's images... too cute :)

The image was printed twice and both cats were cut and raised with stamping dimensional. Finished card is measured 5" square.

Cuppacakeabella

I dare you to say that three times straight...LOL!

My sister asked me to make her a card for her friend, Leyla. (Belated Happy Birthday, Leyla!). And can you believe that she's never been inked before (I'm talking about my stamp not Leyla...LOL!).

My Bella's are really not happy with me lately and they were glad that my sister asked for a Bella card. They think I've been ignoring them but they just don't understand that I work full-time and by the time I get home from work, I still have to cook and help my daughter with her homework. If only we have more than 24 hours a day, I'll be playing with them more...LOL!

Cuppacakeabella was stamped on Whisper White card stock, colored with Prisma water color and layered with Green Galore card stock. I had these pink prima flowers and I thought that they are perfect for this card. The icing and the dots on her dress was covered with stickles.

Quick cards

Don't you just love quick and simple cards. And if you really don't have a lot of time to create but you just have too, this would be the perfect sketch challenge for you? This is Amy Rysavy of Praire Paper and Ink super simple sketch.

It's so simple, I decided to make 3 cards. I used Whisper White card stock on the first card (always). The velvet blooms on the first card is by Maya Road and I added a self-adhesive rhinestones to add some bling.

For the 2nd card (joy), I had this 12 x 12 patterned paper with a Santa on the corner and really didn't know how to use it. I used the other part of this paper on my forever card (see previous post). So, I used different size of circle punch to create an ornament, raised with stamping dimensional and added a silver cord on Very Vanilla card stock.

And for the third card (very merry), I punched my large Stampin' Up Star punch on the same patterned paper pack that I used for my joy card, the other 2 stars is Cuttlebug die 3x3 Stars, raised with stamping dimensional on Whisper White card stock and finished the card with polka dot sheer ribbon.

Forever...yours!

Happy Monday!

It's been a crazy weekend, frustrating and fun at the same time. Anyway, I found out Friday afternoon that I wouldn't be able to get the house/condo (long story) and I was pretty upset all weekend long. And then, my realtor called me Saturday afternoon to let me know that we have to start all over again :(. Yesterday, I met with him and we saw couple of places that I was interested and place a bid ... again. I'll find out by Wednesday if they accepted the offer and we'll be in contract... again! So, back to square one...again :(

Anyway, for the fun part...I had some time last night to create and I haven't been playing with my Sarah Kay stamps and I thought it would be nice to do the Magnolia vs Stampavie Challenge. I always have a hard time with big/long cards and when I saw the sentiment on this sketch, I thought why not use a huge sentiment also...LOL! The sentiment alone is measured 2" x 3 1/2", but I thought it's just the perfect sentiment for these two.

Main image is from Summer 2008 Sarah Kay Collection, A Kiss for Chloe and was stamped on Whisper White card stock and colored with Stampin' Up re-inkers and matted with Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip card stock. The sentiment Forever is by Heidi Swapp Clear Stamp. The patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye. The card is measured 9 1/2" x 8 1/2" folded in half, I told you its HUGE.

Hello, New Friend!

I had so fun reading your comments and guessing how many subscriptions I currently have. Carolina got it right but she left the comment after the deadline (sorry, Carolina! ), other than that, no one had the right guess and Jacqueline...15?!? Oh my goodness... i wish! Being a single mom with 1 income, I can only afford to subscribe to Paper Crafts. So, I have Toni picked a number last night (she was actually in bed already and was not really happy that I'm asking her to pick a number...LOL!). But, she pick #15 and that's you Elena.
