Dollar Days

I was going through my dollar stamps last night and thought of using these 3 neglected stamps that I got at Michael's sometime last year. I also wanted to use my scraps of patterned paper that are piling up.

It took me about 10 minutes to make all 3 cards... I think! I could have changed the layout of each card but I just wanted to create last night while watching Dancing with the Stars.

Nothing special with all 3 cards, again same layout, same card stocks, same patterned paper just different stamps but added charms on 2 cards.

Stamp: Dollar Stamps from Michaels

Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive, Perfect Plum and Blush Blossom card stock from Stampin' Up Pattern Paper from Scrapbook Walls

Be Inspired #24

This is the first time I'm participating for Beate's Be Inspired Challenge, this is when she post something she finds on her blog and you find an inkspiration and translate it in a card. I've always been amazed how people interpret things they see and after months of admiring every ones work, I decided to try it. And I think i'll be back for more.

At first, I was going to combine all colors together and stamped on an acetate card but after looking at these glasses again, I wanted my card to be simple. And since I still have some left-overs of my Stampin' Up Love & Happiness rub-ons after I created my Pink Guitar, I decided to just stick with the simple card.

The card base is a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" of Whisper White card stock and I stapled a same size of acetate and finished the card with Chocolate Chip satin ribbon. The sentiment is from PTI, Green Thumb stamp set.

What are these you asked? My 8-year old daughter Toni is been really helpful around the house lately. She offered to help me fold our laundry Tuesday, I told her that she can fold hers and just leave mine on the side. So last night I peek in her room and saw these on top of her bed. Our clothes sorted separately. Oh, you should see her room full of post-it notes to remember which one belongs to what....LOL!

Wanna play...

with my pink guitar?

Holly from Hog Wild About Stamping created a guitar card almost a month ago and she was even featured on Card of the Week.com for her cool card. The template can be found at Papershapez (used to be Stampinspot) as a free download. I printed the template once I saw Holly's card and set it aside. And last night, while going through my printed templates, I thought of why not making my own guitar card?

Growing up, I've always wanted to learn how to play a guitar not just because it's cool to play but I wanted to have my own pink Hello Kitty guitar...LOL! This card was supposed to be a Hello Kitty guitar but I don't have any stamp or stickers. So, I just used my Stampin' Up Love & Happiness rub-ons. I really like how Holly added a pick on her card so I added one also. Now I have my own pink guitar, I just need to learn how to play.

Snow Much Fun!

It's been almost a week of not blog posting and not making cards :(

But, last night before going to bed, I thought of using this image that I colored last week. It was supposed to be for the color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers to use Riding Hood Red, Going Gray and Green Galore and since it's already colored, why not use last weeks sketch challenge also?

Main image is Mini-Me's Friends from Whipper Snapper Design, colored using Stampin' up re-inkers. The hat is stamped on Whisper White card stock, cut-out and raised with stamping dimensional and added some liquid appliqué for the snow. The Red Riding Hood and Green Galore card stock was ran thru Cuttlebug using Snowflakes CB folder.

I hope to have more stamping time this week...crossing my fingers :)

Stamp: Mini-Me's Friends from Whipper Snapper Design

Paper: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Going Gray and Green Galore card stock from SU

Bear Hugs... anyone?

I saved this sketch from AmyRysavy of Prairie Paper & Ink when she posted this last Friday. I've been thinking of what image I should use for this one yesterday while at work, and this is what I came out with.

Isn't he the cutest bear? He's not only ready to give BIG hugs, he's also waiting to get one from you too. I bought this set mainly for my daughter. She loves bears and collects them, she has tons of bears and couldn't part with any of them. The bear and the bees are from CC Designs Bear Hugs set. The bear is stamped on a separate whisper white card stock, cut-out and raised with stamping dimensional. The bees are stamped randomly and their wings are covered with crystal stickles.

Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red card stock from Stampin' Up and Patterned Paper by Autumn Leave

Thinking of You!

A really quick card while waiting for my daughter to come home and while watching Training Day on a Sunday afternoon. She was supposed to be here hours ago but I guess there's some change of plans and forgot to tell mom, oh well!

I was trying to finish a card earlier today (I can't wait to show you but i guess you guys just have to wait) and had to take a brake and make a quick card. My Stampin' Up Love & Happiness rub-ons was starring at me and begging to be used and so I did.

Did you have a great weekend? I had a relaxing weekend and looking forward for another relaxing weekend in 2 weeks =)

3 cards

It's my weekend to be alone... again!

I usually look forward for my alone time. Oh! don't get me wrong I love being with my daughter but working 5 days/40 hours a week and tons of things to do when you get home, being alone on a weekend to do anything (or nothing at all) by myself is something I look forward too. And, when her dad pick her up last night, I browse through blogs and find some sketches/challenges to do. These are the cards I made last night.

I'm still playing with Taylor's stamps and how could you not use these cute cupcake for her own Cupcake Challenge?!

This time I used my Sweet Celebration set matching with Key Ingredients Birthday Boy package. And it's been awhile since the last time I made shaker cards and thought that the sketch is just perfect for this technique. I was going to put real sprinkles inside but I don't have the right color so I used my 1/8" punch to match the card.

Stamp: Sweet Celebration from Taylored Expression

Paper
: Birthday Boy set from Taylored Expression

Ink
: Black Staz-on Ink and SU re-inkers

Accessories
: Marvy Scallop Oval Punch and Marvy Oval Punch, acetate sheet, 1/4 punch for confetti and stamping dimensional

Here's my card for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. Main image is from Stampin' Up Frosty set, colored it with SU re-inkers, I thought it was too plain when I was assembling the card and I remember a technique that Charmaine of Oodabug Alley posted on SCS. I used the Dryer Sheet Technique to cover the main image, I really like how it looks but it's a shame that you can't see that my snowman are dressed on Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi.

Stamp: Frosty from Stampin' Up

Paper
: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red and Wild Wasabi from Stampin' Up

Ink
: VersaFine Onyx Black and SU re-inkers

Accessories
: Dryer sheet, Dazzling Diamonds, Cuttlebug, Snowflake CB folder, Pretty in Pink gross grain ribbon and stamping dimensional

And last but not the least. It's last week's sketch by Jen at I {heart} 2 Stamp. This is one of the first House Mouse stamp that I ever bought and can you believe that this has never been inked before?!

I was trying to create a sky background by using my cloud template with Stampin' Pastels but you can barely see in the picture, I guess I should have used a classic ink but I want a more softer look.... oh well, maybe next time. And make sure to visit Jen's blog today, she has a Bella-riffic Sketch For You To Try.

TTFN! Off to create more cards, I have 27 more hours of my alone time.

Stamp: Butterfly Express by House Mouse Design and sentiment from Stampin' Up

Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Bashful blue and Lovely Lilac from Stampin' Up

Ink: Black Staz-on Ink and SU re-inkers

Spooky Sweets and Smell my Feet

Happy Friday! I have 2 Halloween cards for you today, hope you like them Happy .

Taylor from Taylored Expressions released her first stamp sets last week and when I saw these cute cupcakes on their Halloween Best, I just had to have it. My Trick or Sweet set came last night and I had fun playing with them.

I used Kristina Werner's card template seen here for this card. I printed the templates on a whisper white card stock and trace it on Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie card stock. The 3 cupcakes was stamped on a Whisper White card stock and the mummy and the cat was stamped on a separate card stock, cut-out and raised with stamping dimensional.

Stamp: Trick or Sweet from Taylored Expression

Paper: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Lovely Lilac card stock from SU

Ink: Black Staz-on Ink and SU re-inkers

Accessories: Gross grain Ribbon, Dew drops and stamping dimensional

And for my 2nd card, I used Laura's sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You. I've been following their blog and been wanting to join in the fun and thought that this sketch was just perfect for Anna Wight's Hocus Pocus and Spooky Expressions Halloween set from Whipper Snapper Designs.

The sentiment and the witches legs are stamped on Whisper White card stock and water-colored using SU re-inkers, the witches hat was stamped on a separate card stock, cut-out, raised with stamping dimensional and covered it with crystal effects. The bats were randomly stamped on Green Galore card stock with VersaMark ink and I just have to add tiny googly eyes.

So Sweet

Not only is she gorgeous, she's also sweet! Don't you think?!

Again, I only have a couple of Sarah Kay stamps which were purchased at 7 Kids College Fund, so you'll be seeing them every week for Sarah Kay weekly challenges. But then again, who'll ever get tired of looking at these girls?

This week's SK Challenge is another Sketch Challenge. I made a mistake of coloring her first not knowing what paper I would be using. Right after I stamped her on Whisper White card stock, I wanted her to wear something blue so I used my new SU Baja Breeze re-inkers to color her. The flowers are covered with Baby Pink Flower Soft. Luckily, I have this patterned paper on my stack that perfectly matches what she's wearing.

Mouse on a Budget!

This week's House Mouse Challenge is "On A Budget", to make anything that would cost less than $2.00, not counting the stamps and inks. I didn't even own this cute stamp! Carolyn Bounds of P.M.S. etc was nice to send me some House Mouse images... thanks Carolyn! So, for the next House Mouse Challenges, I'll be using the images that she sent me. Make sure to visit her blog, she's one of the House Mouse Challenge Design Team and you'll sure love her and all her creations.

Can you tell that my mice are on a budget? They can't even afford a Halloween Costume, so Mom made this costume for them but Mom was color blind, so they ended up with White, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red, but they are actually pretty happy with it.

And, not only I was able to make a card for less than $2.00, I was able to make a little something to match my card for my daughter. When I was shopping for school clothes for her a couple of weeks ago before school started, she wanted to stop at Jelly Belly store and they have this candy corn on sale for .25 cents for a 9 ounce bag. I was debating if I should get it because they're not the typical Halloween candy corns and I wouldn't be able to use them for Halloween but it's PERFECT for this challenge! (just glad that I didn't gobble them up when I first got them).

And now, the fun part of the challenge... you have to work out the cost for everything you used.

Stamps
:
Sweet Find by House Mouse Design ~ Excluded

Ink
: VersaFine Onyx Black, SU re-inkers ~ Excluded

Paper
: They're $4.50/24 = .18/sheet (Chocolate Chip = .09 cents, Whisper White = .09 cents, Pink Pierouette = .04 cents and Riding Hood Red = .04 cents)

Accessories
:
Chocolate Chip gross grain ribbon ($1.99 / 18 feet = .11 cents/feet), Pink brads ($1.99/50 = $.03 x 2 = .06 cents), plastic bag ($2.99/50 = .02 cents), Fruit punch stickles ($1.99/bottle = .05 cents) and Candy Corn for .25 cents.

Card Total = .09 + .09 + .04 + .04 + .11 + .06 + .02 + .05 + .25 = .75 cents

My time figuring this out..... $20.00! Laughing Out Loud
Sharing this card with you... PRICELESS!

Upside Down Birthday

Have you been to Taylor's blog? That's a silly question, I know... okay, have you seen her new line of stamps, ofcourse you've seen it if you've been to her blog. Oh, are we in trouble or what?!

Anyway, if you've been to her blog you know that it's time again for Taylor's Cupcake Sketch Challenge and I've been wanting to make a card with this turle from Whipper Snapper Design upside down. We have turtle name Dude and when it's time to clean him I always like to put him upside down (don't ask me why) I guess I like to see him get out of that position. So, when I saw Taylor's sketch, it was just time.

Dude and his friend was invited to a birthday party, Dude got the balloons and his friend was such a goof, fell and had all the cupcakes ended up on his belly. The cupcakes are covered with liquid applique and stickes for some sprinkles and they like their cupcakes with cherries.

Stamp: Turtle from Whipper Snapper Design and cupcake from Studio G/Acrylic Stamp

Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and Mellos Moss card stock from SU

Ink
: Black Staz-on Ink and SU re-inkers

Accessories
: Liquid Applique, Crystal stickles, Dew drops, and stamping dimensionals
